Working to protect the Mississippi River and its watershed in the Twin Cities area

This spring, 90 Rosemount High School students planted 600 native species in the Rosemount Wildlife Preserve. In addition to learning about the plants from FMR restoration ecologist Karen Schik and Rosemount Director of Parks and Recreation Tom Schuster, students also had a chance to learn about FMR conservation efforts in this and other important areas in the Mississippi River Watershed. Read more about this site in our Woodland Preserve profile.
Volunteers are currently being sought to help tend these young plants over their first summer. There will be two weed-and water-sessions: Thursday, June 26, 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, August 28, 6-8 p.m. For more information on these and other educational and volunteer events, please visit our Events & Activities page.
