FMR welcomes Alex Roth to its staff

The FMR board and staff are very pleased to announce that Alex Roth has joined the team as an ecologist. Alex will be working to improve the Mississippi ecosystem by developing Natural Resource Management Plans and managing habitat restoration and management projects. Alex is currently completing his PhD in Natural Resources Science and Management at the University of Minnesota. His research has focused on invasive species, especially buckthorn and earthworms. His knowledge of the effects of invasive species and of Minnesota’s natural communities will add a lot to FMR’s Conservation Program, and to the effort to restore and manage natural areas in the Mississippi River watershed in the Twin Cities area. He is excited to begin to work with both volunteers and landowners to improve natural areas that are so important to the health of the Mississippi River. Please join us in welcoming Alex to FMR.
