Join the Riverfront Support Crew!

NOTE: Please note that as of July 15 most volunteer shifts have been filled, but you are still welcome to submit an online volunteer request; we will do our best to assign you to a shift that meets your availability and interest, or can put your name on a waiting list in case any volunteer shifts open up in the next two weeks. Thank you!

Riverfront Support Crew volunteers work with FMR staff handling boats, refreshments, first-aid and lots more. Volunteers are critical — it takes over 200 to make this event happen, at 10 riverfront locations! You can sign up for three hours, or 30. Let us know your availability and preferences and we'll design a weekend schedule that fits your needs and interests. All volunteers receive a t-shirt and food, but those who sign up for two or more Support Crew shifts are also invited to join the party at Historic Fort Snelling, normally $20-$25, on us!

If you like large-scale, high-energy events and are available during the last weekend of July, this is the perfect opportunity for both individuals, families and small groups.

A list of shift locations and approximate times as well as a Volunteer request form is available at the Mississippi River Challenge website. Please note that as of July 15 most of our shifts have been filled, so you may be asked to take a shift other than the one you requested, or to be assigned to a waiting list. Large group reservations are taken ahead of time, typically between mid-February and mid-April. If you have a group of 5 or more, please contact the MRC volunteer coordinator Katie Clower directly at 651-222-2193 x23.
