Working to protect the Mississippi River and its watershed in the Twin Cities area
Please note: Pre-registration is required for this limited capacity, hands-on restoration event. To register, or for more information, contact sue through our contact form or at 651-222-2193 x14 by noon Thursday, June 5 (although earlier registration is encouraged in case the event fills before then). Please include your name, the number in your party, contact information and the name of the event. Registrants only will receive meeting location and additional information.
Enjoy a hands-on seed identification and collection training while enjoying a rare example of a sand gravel prairie. Previous seed collection is not required but participants should be able to identify at least a few prairie species, or be very interested in learning.
Seed will be used for further prairie restoration. Large quantities — of volunteers and seed alike — needed!
Another training and seed collection event will take place at the Sand Coulee on September 27, 2008.
To learn more about the Sand Coulee, please visit our Sand Coulee profile feature and our Sand Coulee project page.
This event is also part of the Vermillion Stewards program, volunteers participating in hands-on stewardship and educational programs throughout the unique Vermillion River watershed.
