Working to protect the Mississippi River and its watershed in the Twin Cities area

Crosby Shoreline Buckthorn Haul

Display Date:
Thursday, August 5, 2010 — 6:00-8:00 pm
Location:
Crosby Park, Mississippi River Gorge, St. Paul
Help remove invasive buckthorn from shoreline at Crosby Farm Regional Park in St. Paul. This event marks the beginning of an exciting effort to restore shoreline of Upper Crosby Lake. Removing invasive species is the first step toward increasing native species and improving habitat and water quality. Crews will be cutting the buckthorn before the event, and volunteers will be needed to help haul the brush out of the area.

As always, staff will provide all guidance, tools, and gloves needed for a productive and fun event. Children accompanied by a parent or guardian are welcome.

Volunteers will be the first to be invited to continue the restoration project in the future.
