Sorry. This event has reached capacity and registration is no longer being taken.

If you are interested in digging in with more habitat restoration events, please consider joining the April 30th or May 6th garlic mustard pulls to protect the river flats in Minneapolis and spring ephemeral patch in St. Paul.

If you are interested in something closer to this part of the metro, please consider the May 2nd and May 9th clean-ups in Farmington and Hastings, respectively, along the Vermillion River.

-------------

Enjoy the beauty of a spring morning along the Mississippi River at Macalester College's Katharine Ordway Field Station in Inver Grove Heights while participating in a research project to study the impacts of the non-native species, garlic mustard, and results of removal on native plant populations. This plant is very easy to identify and pull by hand or with a weeder tool.

Volunteers will receive brief training in identification and removal methods. You should wear sturdy shoes or boots and appropriate clothing for working in a wooded area and kneeling on damp ground in cool weather. Gloves and weeder tools will be provided, but please bring your own if you have them. Children are welcome with parents or guardians, but will need to bring their own gloves. A light lunch will also be provided.

If you are interested in transportation from Macalester College in St. Paul, please contact Rebekah Holmes, Event and Outreach Assistant at rholmes@fmr.org or 651-222-2193 x31.
