Working to protect the Mississippi River and its watershed in the Twin Cities area
Have you always wanted to learn more about the birds that live in your backyard? Whether you're an experienced birder or can't tell a robin from a chickadee, this is the perfect opportunity. With bird banding demonstrations, field trips to local birding hot spots for experts or beginners, a youth birding competition, and "Raptors 101", people of all ages and birding levels will find much to enjoy at the Hastings Area Birding Festival.
Cost is $2.50 per participant, and an optional box lunch may be reserved for an additional $10 per person. Any event proceeds will support K-12 environmental education programming and habitat protection at Carpenter Nature Center. Participants will also learn about local education and volunteer activities, including opportunities to improve bird habitat, with event partners FMR, CNC, HEP, MOU and the City of Hastings.
Call 651-437-4359 to reserve your spot. The event flyer and the registration form are also attached at the bottom of this page.
