Rice Creek Chain: Take a paddle on the wild, north side of town

The Rice Creek Chain of Lakes is a tremendous regional asset worthy of protection. Thats one reason that FMR works with the Rice Creek Watershed District and other local partners to coordinate the Rice Creek Stream Health Evaluation Program (SHEP).

This program monitors the health of streams leading into and out of the Rice Creek Chain of Lakes, and is a terrific way for volunteers to partner with non-profits and local governments to monitor stream health.

For a visit to the Chain of Lakes, be sure to contact the Wargo Nature Center, a wonderful local resource that can help you learn more about the lakes and how to experience them.

The Star Tribune recently featured the Rice Creek chain in an article by Jim Adams.
