Stormwater ponds: yesterday's solution to pollution?

Twenty or more years after they were first installed, many stormwater retention ponds are showing signs of aging.

As stormwater ponds begin to fill up with ever-increasing amounts of sediment and runoff pollutants before they reach the Mississippi River, their ability to control flooding and remove pollution is compromised.
