It's been a strange and difficult year so far, and our legislative goals and priorities have changed since we drafted them in January.

In a normal year, we usually gather with River Guardians and Members around this time to celebrate the end of the legislative session. With a special session in June and another coming up in July, we'd like to take this time instead for a conversation about where we stand -- how our policy goals are progressing, what the path forward might be, and what we've added as legislative priorities in the wake of the murder of George Floyd and the calls for justice from the MN Legislature's People of Color and Indigenous (POCI) Caucus.

We'll hear from FMR Executive Director Whitney Clark, FMR Board Member Paul Bauknight, River Corridor Program Director Colleen O'Connor Toberman, and Water Program Director Trevor Russell. We'll hear updates on their work. And please come with questions!

Register now!

All are welcome, and FMR members and River Guardians are especially encouraged to attend. Be sure to RSVP for yourself and your friends so we can share the Zoom link before the event.

Members and River Guardians

Anyone who donates to FMR becomes a member, whether you donate on our site or give a gift of support when you RSVP using the link or form above. As a member, you strengthen our local role as the community voice for the river. You also receive river news and FMR updates, advance notice when registration opens for special events, and the satisfaction of making a tangible difference for your river and your community.

FMR River Guardians sign online petitions when their help and voice are needed the most and are invited to special advocacy trainings and meetings (like this happy hour!). Everyone who participates in this event will be signed up as a River Guardian, or you can learn more or sign up now online.

Your voice matters and your advocacy and generous support of FMR has made a big, lasting difference for our Mississippi River. Thank you FMR members and River Guardians old and new!
