Professional Bio
Trevor Russell has served as FMR's Water Program Director since 2006. He has a degree in economics from the Colorado College, and has more than 25 years of experience in environmental & public health advocacy.
FMR Role
Trevor's work includes federal and state water quality advocacy, education, communications, and coalition development. This includes issues related to agricultural water quality, cropland climate emissions, continuous living cover (CLC) cropping systems, biofuels, drinking water protection, Clean Water Act implementation and market-based strategies for achieving Minnesota's clean water goals.
Trevor also leads FMR's work to advance legislative and administrative policies that protect and restore water quality and river health in Minnesota. In addition, Trevor serves as chair of the 1 Mississippi Steering Committee and represents FMR on the Mississippi River Restoration & Resilience Initiative (MRRRI) Steering Committee.
Personal Details
Trevor lives with his dog Rio in the Longfellow neighborhood of Minneapolis and enjoys canoeing, camping, breweries, gardening, and tacos.
