Stewardship & Education

Through hands-on restoration activities, workshops and education programs and partnerships, FMR's Stewardship & Education program connects individuals, communities, school groups and youth with our river and its watershed.

We work to inspire an ethic of active stewardship through over 100 activities in the Twin Cities metro area annually. As we partner with community members to restore the river, we also work toward a riverway that is safe, healing and accessible for all.

Engaging volunteers

FMR works with thousands of local residents each year to steward local parks and habitat restoration sites.

Without their active hands-on care, many beloved natural areas in our metro communities would suffer.

Educating youth

FMR offers a variety of education opportunities for K-12 groups and individual youth in the Twin Cities metro area.

Building career pathways

We're proud to support the next generation of environmental leaders at FMR and beyond.

We offer internships and the immersive Environmental Stewardship Institute and co-lead a collaborative to create more pathways into local environmental organizations.

Educators — we’re here for you.

We provide tools and programs for youth educators year-round.
