Professional Bio

Colleen brings her experience in community engagement, policy and advocacy, program management and equitable development to FMR's Land Use & Planning program. Prior to joining FMR in 2019, her most recent role was with the Blue Line Coalition and Center for Economic Inclusion where she focused on equitable development policy and collaboration with local government partners. Colleen's past work has included policy, advocacy, and community engagement around urban development, housing and transportation issues.

Colleen is currently the board president for the Frogtown Curling Club. She is a former member of the City of Minneapolis Advisory Committee on Housing as well as a former board president of the Northeast Investment Cooperative. She holds a bachelor's in sociology from the University of St. Thomas.  

FMR Role

As Land Use & Planning Program Director, Colleen works to ensure that the natural, scenic, cultural, historical, recreational and public values of the Mississippi River corridor are understood, protected, enhanced and celebrated. This includes working with community and public-sector partners to develop land-use policies, advocate for parks and public access, guide riverfront development, and plan for the future of the Twin Cities' locks and dams.

Personal Details

Outside of work Colleen enjoys outdoor activities (particularly kayaking, biking and hiking), travel and home improvement projects. She lives in Northeast Minneapolis with her husband.
