Ellie
Rogers

Communications Manager

Bio

Though her grandparents met while working at the field biology station at the headwaters of the Mississippi, Ellie (she/her) grew up downriver in the Twin Cities. On childhood hikes and canoe adventures, she grew to love Minnesota’s lakes and rivers.

At Macalester College, she majored in environmental studies and became the herbarium curator and co-creator of the first green roofs in St. Paul. After graduation, Ellie moved to the Pacific Northwest to work with Skagit Land Trust, an organization stewarding another beloved river valley. That job led to roles in nonprofit communications, teaching, editing and design. Her time there also deepened her land and water ethic.

After earning an MFA in writing at Western Washington University, Ellie moved back home to Minnesota to put down roots in 2018 and is grateful to have landed at FMR.

FMR Role
