Camel's Hump garlic mustard pull / River Day of Action

Our work takes place on Dakota land. Learn more.
Join us for a summer work night removing garlic mustard and other invasive plants from Camel's Hump Park and Open Space. The site is home to expansive bluff-top views of the Mississippi River Valley, as well as restored prairie, oak savanna, woodland and forest.
This event is part of the Mississippi River Network River Days of Action. Join in on over 30 in-person and online events happening June 8-18, 2023. Together, from Headwaters to Gulf, we are celebrating and taking action for the people, land, water and wildlife of our nation’s most iconic waterway, the Mississippi. You can also take action by supporting us as a River Giver. Learn more.
All are welcome, but capacity is limited and registration is required. As always, all tools and training will be provided and volunteers are encouraged to work at their own pace and comfort level.
Accessibility
Garlic mustard removal will be off-trail and on sloped terrain. Hand-pulling weeds is a relatively low-intensity activity, but there will be pulling locations that require a short hike up and down a steep slope. If desired, volunteers can separate into groups based on terrain.
