Join us at Excelsior Brewing to learn how you can create a water-friendly lawn or garden
Join us at Excelsior Brewing Company and learn how you can transform your lawn or garden making it water-friendly. Whether you're interested in a smaller native planting or want to transform your whole yard into a force for clean water, this FMR workshop can help your planning. Advanced registration is required - see below for more details!
Taught by FMR River Stewardship Coordinator Adam Flett, this presentation receives rave reviews from participants, who appreciate the high-quality and concise material.
Home lawn and garden practices significantly impact the health of Lake Minnetonka, Minnehaha Creek, and ultimately the Mississippi River. In this brief but informative FMR workshop, learn how you can become part of the solution. This workshop takes a how-to approach, suggesting local resources and quickly covering the most relevant information so you can begin taking steps to protect water quality this gardening season.
Plus, $1 from each pint sold will be donated to FMR!
We will discuss:
- landscaping with native plant species,
- the proper use of lawn fertilizer,
- rain barrels,
- backyard composting,
- soil testing,
- creating a rain garden, and
- additional innovative approaches to managing stormwater.
This event is part of the Brewing Clean Water program, bringing FMR and local breweries together.
