FMR’s web site gets a new look

Last Monday night, while Minnesotans slept, Friends of the Mississippi River‘s website got a new look. Today, it looks more inviting, makes better use of screen space, and is easier to read than before. The home page has been redesigned to better organize and make more accessible all the great content that folks have come to expect on the web site.

New features include a sortable events calendar, a regularly changing lead story and featured photo and much more complete info on all of FMR‘s programs and activities. Visitors should also find that the new Take Action section makes it easier to make their voice heard on issues that affect the river and the new on-line donation page makes supporting river conservation that much easier!

Behind the scenes, the changes are also dramatic, if less obvious. The site is now more accessible for visitors who rely on assistive tools to browse the web, and a content management system provides for easier site maintenace and updates.

Much of the old content and lots of new info and resources are now up on the new site and much more is still being developed or moved. If you don‘t see something you're looking for check back again soon.

We invite you to visit and explore the new site. As always, feel free to share your comments (and report bugs, if you find them). Enjoy!
