Lake Pepin process hits the brakes!

Last month, we noted that FMR, in partnership with the MPCA, was scheduled to host the first round of Lake Pepin TMDL public open houses this September. Unfortunately, it turns out that due to a request from the U.S. EPA that Minnesota address site-specific standards for Lake Pepin before the Lake Pepin TMDL is completed, that the September public hearings will be delayed until later this fall. More information of the site-specific standards for Lake Pepin, along with updates on the Lake Pepin TMDL project, will be available in our next issue of Mississippi Messages.
