FMR is privileged to have the assistance of two new interns: Claire ONeill and Caleb Phillips.
Caleb, a junior at Gustavus Adolphus, will be with us for the month of January. The environmental studies and philosophy major found out about FMR after Gustavus philosophy program alum Gabe Ormsby (and FMR staffer) presented at a dinner for students and faculty: Mom, Dad, Im a Philosophy Major.
Now Caleb is hard at work with Gabe, putting together the new FMR photo database. Caleb is also assisting with outreach for upcoming Minnesota Environmental Partnership legislative meetings and helping out with research. Although only here a brief time, Caleb is putting in 35 hours a week and is sure to make significant contributions. Caleb will return to Gustavus in February to resume his course work plus his active role in several environmental and social justice student organizations.
Claire ONeill will also be helping with the MEP meetings assisting with both outreach and event setup a perfect fit for her environmental and political sciences double major. Claire is a third-year student at the University of New South Wales in Australia (she will be completing coursework online for the semester).
After the legislative meetings, Claire will help with restoration events through the end of her time here in June. Claire, who has dual citizenship (she was born and spent her earliest years in Australia), will return to the land Down Under to complete her final courses and thesis in the summer (their so-called winter).
