Minneapolis poised to pursue new riverfront organization
The City of Minneapolis may be moving forward to initiate a new riverfront organization to coordinate, promote, and raise funds for park and economic development and enhancement efforts along the Mississippi River. The public-private non-profit organization would require legislation to go forward as proposed, and the city and park board are likely to include it in their 2008 legislative agenda.
The proposal was the result of a two-year study and the recommendations of the Minneapolis Riverfront Blue Ribbon Task Force.
