Stormwater ponds: yesterday's solution to pollution?

Twenty or more years after they were first installed, many stormwater retention ponds are showing signs of aging.

As stormwater ponds begin to fill up with ever-increasing amounts of sediment and runoff pollutants before they reach the Mississippi River, their ability to control flooding and remove pollution is compromised.

The Pioneer Press recently reported on struggles with aging stormwater retention ponds in White Bear Lake.
