Great group volunteer activities are available

If you work with a corporation or are part of a church, scout or large family looking for an Earth Day or other service outing, FMR has several volunteer activities that groups enjoy.

  • Earth Day Cleanup
    Saturday, April 18, 9:30 am-noon

Join hundreds of volunteers as we pick up litter in the beautiful Mississippi River Gorge in south Minneapolis. Groups have their choice of two meeting spots, the oak savanna at 36th Street and West River Parkway or the maple-basswood forest at 44th Street and West River Parkway. All supplies provided. Email or call FMR Volunteer Coordinator sue rich via out contact form or at 651.222.2193 x14 (in Tuesday-Thursday).

  • Plan your spring stenciling outing!

If you'd like to plan an event to fit your group's schedule, have a group of 15 or more and live or can travel to Saint Paul, consider spraypainting for a good cause or storm drain stenciling!

  • If you're in the Vermillion Watershed (Inver Grove Heights, Rosemount, Hastings and surrounding areas) we would especially like to hear from your group. As it is early in the season, we may be able to schedule a habitat restoration event (primarily native seed collections, river clean ups and invasive species removals) to meet your groups needs, and, if, your club or organization is large enough, make it a non-public event. For more information, email or call FMR Volunteer Coordinator sue rich at 651.222.2193 x14.
