A breath of fresh air for prairie fuel?

A recent study by the University of Minnesota, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, looked at life-cycle air emissions from three fuel sources: cellulosic ethanol, corn ethanol and gasoline.

While the environmental and economic benefits associated with each of these fuel sources are a hotly debated topic, this study points to the need to include particulate air emissions and associated impacts on human health when investing in future energy resources.
