Welcome Lindsay & Adam
Lindsay Hefferan starts this month as FMRs Volunteer and Event Registrar. This is a new position that will handle all of FMRs volunteer and stewardship event registration. We are excited to have a year-round person in place to provide a consistent first point of contact for new and returning volunteers!
Lindsay has a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Minnesota and brings a range of experiences to the position. After college, she worked as a project manager and copywriter at Spunk Design and served a year with Americorps doing restoration work and leading public volunteer events. Most recently, Lindsay served as marketing communications coordinator for a local law firm, Briggs and Morgan, where she juggled and executed web and media requests for 175 attorneys. She currently works half-time as the Sunday Gathering Coordinator at Upper Room Community, and will be balancing that with 20 hours a week at FMR.
After a successful year of coordinating the annual Mississippi River Challenge Event at FMR, Adam Flett has been hired as the new Stewardship Event Coordinator and will be making the transition between jobs early this year. In addition to his year of outreach and event coordination experience with FMR, Adams previous experience included coordinating public outreach, education and camp leadership programs, working with volunteers, and conducting research and field restoration work. Adam has a B.S. in Environmental Science, Policy and Management from the University of Minnesota and his previous employers include YMCA Camp St. Croix, Trail Town Outreach Corps and the University of Minnesota Forestry Extension Service. Adam will be responsible for planning and coordinating the majority of FMRs public stewardship events, engaging volunteers in natural area restoration work and managing the gorge leadership team.
