Lawsuit over White Bear Lake water levels will go to trial

Low water levels in White Bear Lake have led to a lawsuit over Minnesota DNR management of groundwater in the White Bear Lake area.

The Star Tribune recently highlighted a decision by Judge Margaret Marrinan to send a nearly two-year old lawsuit over White Bear Lake water levels to trial next spring. The suit, brought by White Bear Lake enthusiasts and lakeshore property owners, calls on the DNR to address the impacts of state-approved water withdrawals that have dramatically reduced aquifer levels and contributed to a nearly 25% decline in White Bear Lake water levels.
