FMR bids a fond farewell to Development Director Heather Haynes

Heather Haynes

After 12 years of outstanding service to Friends of the Mississippi River, Development Director Heather Haynes is moving on. Heather joined FMR in 2002 when the organization had a staff of eight and an annual budget of $500,000. Thanks in large part to Heather's many contributions, the organization now employs a staff of 18 with an annual budget this year exceeding $1.7 million.

In her next position as a Senior Director of Development at Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Heather will collaborate to provide leadership, strategic direction and operational oversight for the organization's development activities.

Though everyone at FMR will sorely miss Heather, she assures us that "after 12+ years as Development Director at FMR, the river is a part of who I am. My love for the Mississippi River and the work of Friends of the Mississippi River will not stop when I leave the staff. I will continue to be an advocate for and steward of the river well into the future."

We wish Heather all the best in her next professional chapter.

The Director of Development position at FMR is currently open and a search has begun for Heather's replacement.
