FMR welcomes artist in residence Peter L. Johnson to its team of river advocates and stewards. A long-time river lover, Peters photographs aim to "see the truth and beauty of our complicated relationship with the Big River." Peter says his work "makes our cataclysmic additions to nature not only more palatable to contemplate, but also more difficult to ignore."
Peter is working closely with FMR staff to integrate his artistic vision into our shared goals of protecting and restoring the vibrancy of the Mississippi River. His images will regularly appear on the FMR website and we hope will encourage viewers to see the river in its many aspects in new and challenging ways.
Welcome, Peter!
