Stewardship & Education Program Director
Bio
Jacob (he/him) received his undergraduate degree from the University of St. Thomas and his master's degree in Natural Science and Environmental Education from Hamline University. He has worked as a cross-community youth worker in Belfast, Northern Ireland; a canoe guide; and, for over 20 years, in higher education running international and domestic immersion experiences focused on justice issues, community engagement and cultural exchange.
FMR role
Jacob leads the Stewardship & Education program, deepening partnerships and providing opportunities for the public to engage with the Mississippi River. He supports staff and enhances existing programming — volunteer events, youth education, and career pathways — through fundraising, grant writing and project management.
Personal details
Outside of work, Jacob enjoys the wizz and whirl of raising teenagers, playing music with his wife and good friends, backyard pond-building, time at the cabin and in the outdoors, and the beautiful game of soccer.
