Vermillion River Corridor planning meetings

by Trevor Russell

The decision to invest in river resources is a choice that requires input and participation from many voices in the community. This past summer, Dakota County, FMR and Hoisington-Koegler Group Inc., joined forces to host a series of public workshops on the future of the Vermillion River.

Attendees at these workshops discussed long-term options for water quality, wildlife habitat, economic development and recreation along the river corridor.

In December, FMR and our partners at Dakota County and Hoisington-Koegler Group Inc., will host the second round of Vermillion River Corridor planning meetings. These meetings will offer attendees to opportunity to preview and refine Corridor plan concepts designed to protect habitat & water quality values exploring opportunities for recreation and future growth.

Well also ask for your suggestions for potential Corridor pilot projects!
