We're excited to invite you to join FMR at Spirit of Water: A Celebration with Mississippi River. This family-friendly celebration will include free food, art, music and activities related to the river. In collaboration with this event, FMR will be hosting two teach-ins, plus a guided walk and cleanup.

The first teach-in will cover the Ford Area C site, with time for discussion and questions. Afterward, you can join FMR staff as we walk out to the Ford Area C site along the river.

The walk is about 2 miles round-trip on sandy, sometimes uneven trail. We will also be providing Area C handouts for a self-guided tour you can do any time. Our handouts will point out different key trail markers to look for, and there will be marked signs to guide you.

Once we return from the walk, we'll host a second teach-in about the future of two Twin Cities locks and dams with a Q&A session as well.

From 2-6 p.m. you can also find FMR staff near the picnic tables gathering input on the design for the 2023 St. Paul Storm Drain Mural.

The mural is an annual FMR project and serves as a reminder that our city landscape connects to the river through storm drains and that we can all work together to keep our water clean. Check out last year’s “Heal with the Earth” mural and be a part of this year’s design by stopping at our table during the event.
