FMR Board member Yumi Kashihara poses with garlic mustard at Rosemount Wildlife Preserve

FMR has been involved in the restoration of Rosemount Wildlife Preserve for 20 years - from the beginning of the project in 2003. This 26-acre site is located in the Northern Dakota County Greenway, which serves as a critical corridor for native wildlife and plants. Rosemount Preserve contains prairie and oak woodland, which we've restored through native plantings, prescribed burns and invasive species removal.

Join us to foster a more diverse woodland at Rosemount Preserve. Volunteers will pull garlic mustard, an invasive plant. Removing plants like garlic mustard will clear the way for native plant communities to return and thrive. Garlic mustard can be easily hand-pulled, and volunteers will quickly see the impact they can make in a short period of time.

All are welcome at this event. No experience is needed. However, registration is required and capacity is limited. All tools, gloves and training will be provided. This event is part of the Vermillion Stewards program, helping residents learn about the watershed while working to protect and enhance its unique natural resources.

Accessibility

This event will take place on level terrain, though in the woodland with no paved trails. Pulling garlic mustard can be done while kneeling or sitting down, and FMR will provide a few kneeling pads.
