Girls enjoy camping at Lilydale Park
Six girls aged 11 to 14 had an unusual opportunity to camp in Lilydale Park Saturday, September 18. In a joint effort between Saint Paul city leaders and community groups that want to promote the riverfront park while introducing city kids to the outdoors, soft camping with minimal impact was arranged.
The special event coincided with a public celebration marking the recent opening of a new trail and bike path in the park. The celebration included a fossil dig, a birding hike and boat rides.
