The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) recently released an update of zoning regulations around Holman Field Airport, situated near downtown St. Paul along the Mississippi River. FMR along with a number of other stakeholders expressed serious concerns about the MACs previous draft for its potential negative impact on birds, river vegetation and a key interpretive project, the Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary.
FMR staff are currently wading through the 125-page revised draft, which is available online as a 25MB PDF. The new draft is being submitted to the Minnesota Department of Transportation for review, and will be subject to a second round of public hearings, for which the date is currently undetermined. Look to future Mississippi Messages and FMR.org for updates!
