Welcome new ecologist, Joe Walton!

Welcome Joe Walton, FMR's newest staff ecologist!

Welcome Joe Walton, FMR's newest staff ecologist! Joe brings a lot of wonderful experiences and skills to FMR's land conservation program. He completed his bachelor's degree in biology at the University of Minnesota, where he is currently completing a master's degree in Urban and Community Forestry. With over 10 years' experience in the natural resources field, Joe brings a great deal of knowledge of natural communities and how to manage them. He also has extensive experience in managing and restoring lakeshores and stream banks, planning and implementing stormwater best management practices such as raingardens, infiltration swales, sedimentation basins and wetland buffers.

Joe will be developing natural resource management plans, undertaking plant surveys, helping to plan volunteer stewardship events and leading restoration activities. He's already rolled up his sleeves, and we know that the Mississippi River will greatly benefit from Joes contribution. Welcome Joe!
