Jeanine Holden

Senior Development Officer – Leadership Gifts (June 2012-January 2019)

Professional Bio

Jeanine brings her passion for philanthropy and her lifelong love of water and the natural environment to build capacity for all that FMR does to conserve the Mississippi River and its watershed in the Twin Cities area. Along with a B.A. in Religion from Saint Olaf College, Jeanines experience includes over 17 years of non-profit development experience and an additional 8 years of corporate marketing/communications. She has represented a variety of missions ranging from Childrens Hospital Foundation to the Minnesota Historical Society to Wellstone Action. She particularly enjoys working with donors who are motivated to align their values with their charitable giving, and families who are giving across multi-generations.

FMR Role through January 2019

Jeanine works closely with FMRs leadership donors who are furthering our mission and vision by becoming Mississippi Riverkeepers and Mississippi River Legacy Society members. Jeanine finds FMRs river-watershed protection work to be both complex and fascinating; expressed best by Tim Palmer: When we save a river, we save a major part of an ecosystem, and we save ourselves as well because of our dependence—physical, emotional, spiritual—on the water and its community of life. She is honored to work with donors who have the foresight to protect the greatest natural asset in our community for current and future generations. And she is proud to work for a local environmental organization that is leading the nation in connecting urban river protection to clean water and healthy communities.

Personal Details

When Jeanine isnt at work, she is happiest when spending quality time with her husband, two daughters and dog.
