River eaglets get their 7-week checkup
The National Park Service is conducting their annual survey of nesting Eagles in the Twin Cities part of a long-term effort to monitor the health of these birds. The 7-week old eaglets are removed from the nests. Then they have blood and feathers drawn for chemical analysis, are weighed and measured and returned safely. Visit our Facebook album to see photos of the eaglets from a nest in Lilydale Regional Park just across the river from downtown Saint Paul. Or visit the National Park Service for more information.
