Thank you intern Heather Kachel!

FMR fall restoration and education events intern extraordinaire, Heather Kachel.

Luckily for us, Heather Kachel came to intern with FMR through the Higher Education Consortium on Urban Affairs (HECUA) Environmental Sustainability program. Heather assisted at most fall 2010 volunteer and educational events, helping to check in participants, manage equipment, lead small groups, and make sure activities ran smoothly.

In addition to playing this important role, Heather took photos at events and helped manage FMR's Flickr account, making it easier for us to share photos with volunteers and partners. Finally, at the end of the events season, Heather conducted an online survey of our 2010 habitat restoration volunteers. Her survey report provided valuable insight into the volunteer experience, and will help us as we work to ensure that FMR restoration volunteers always have a meaningful, enjoyable experience.

We know Heather has a bright future ahead of her and is going to continue making great contributions to the environmental community. We're proud to have had her on our team and can't wait to see what she does next!
