Vermillion River Corridor Plan open house September 23rd
Dakota County will host an open house to review the draft Vermillion River Corridor Plan, Thursday, September 23rd, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Dakota County Extension and Conservation Center at 4100 220th Street in Farmington.
The open house will focus on the plans concepts to improve water quality, habitat, recreation and the economic potential within the Vermillion River Corridor. The event is informal and anyone can attend any time during the open house. No formal presentation is planned. County staff will be available to answer questions.
The draft plan is the result of conversations with many Vermillion River stakeholders, including FMR members, to build a shared vision and encourage cooperative and coordinated efforts among many people who care about the rivers future.
The purpose of the Vermillion River Corridor Plan is to identify and focus efforts in ways that best maximize public benefits, such as improved water quality, improved and interconnected natural habitat, compatible recreation, and a resilient natural framework creating a foundation for future growth or development.
