The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is now gathering public comments on their draft Saint Anthony Falls Regional Park (SAFRP) Master Plan, formerly known as the Central Mississippi Riverfront Regional Park Master Plan. The plan will provide an updated vision of the Minneapolis riverfront park between the Plymouth Avenue Bridge to the north and the 35W Bridge to the south.

The draft plan was released by the MPRB Board for public comment December 3, 2014. The plan is available online and in hard copy at the following locations:

  • Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board Headquarters - 2117 West River Road N.
  • Mill City Museum - 704 South 2nd St.
  • Logan Park Recreation Center - 690 13th Ave NE.

The 45-day comment period will end January 18, 2015. Comments can be submitted in several ways including:

  • Online – complete the online form.
  • Mail – send to Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, Attn: Tyler Pederson, 2117 West River Road N, Minneapolis, MN 55411.
  • Email – write to MPRB's Tyler Pederson at TPederson@minneapolisparks.org.
  • Phone – call MPRB's Tyler Pederson at 612-499-9084.

FMR has been actively involved throughout this 16 month planning process by participating in both the Citizen Advisory Committee and the Technical Advisory Committee. We are pleased with the draft and urge you to support this plan, as it is truly a product of the community. If you are interested in hearing the Citizen Advisory Committee's findings, you may attend the December 17, 2014 MPRB Board meeting.

The tentative schedule moving into 2015 includes a MPRB public hearing and full board resolution in February and Metropolitan Council's plan adoption in the spring.
