Welcome to Bruce Freidson, FMR's new finance manager

FMR is happy to say hello to Bruce Freidson, who began serving as our Finance Manager in late September.

Bruce brings considerable financial management experience to the job, including more than 13 years of service in non-profits. He has a CPA certificate and a mini-MBA in non-profit management from Saint Thomas University.

Bruce is excited about FMR's mission. "I've always loved the outdoors and being around water. Every year I go up to Lake Superior for hiking and relaxation," Bruce says. "Locally, it's great to be involved with the preservation and improvement of the greatest river in our country, and one of the greatest in the world."

Born in Saint Louis Park, Bruce currently resides in Golden Valley, and has lived his entire life in the near western suburbs of Minneapolis. He attended the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Business. He has a bachelor's degree in accounting as well as a MBA in management.

Bruce has some positive early observations of his new workplace. "Everybody at FMR seems to truly like each other, and work together as a team. What many organizations may strive for, but this is the first I have seen achieve it."

He adds: "There always seems to be an abundance of food around, and that is both a plus and minus, and the worst of the issues I have to work through here."

We hope it remains that way! Welcome aboard, Bruce.
