You're invited to Moon Palace Books to celebrate the release of "Mini-Forest Revolution" on Thursday, June 16 at 7 p.m. Author Hannah Lewis will be joined in conversation by Stephen Greenfield of the Audubon Chapter of Minneapolis and FMR board member Julia Olmstead.

Find out more about the event, hosted by Moon Palace Books.

"Mini-Forest Revolution" is about the movement to restore biodiversity in our cities and towns by transforming empty lots, backyards and degraded land into mini-forests. Lewis presents the Miyawaki Method, a unique approach to reforestation devised by Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki. She explains how tiny forests as small as six parking spaces grow quickly and are more biodiverse than you'd think.

In the book, Lewis explores the science behind why Miyawaki-style mini-forests work and the myriad environmental benefits, including: cooling urban heat islands, establishing wildlife corridors, building soil health, sequestering carbon, creating pollinator habitats and more.

FMR celebrates the power of small habitats. At the event, learn more about our work to advance habitat corridors, resilience in the face of climate change and more.
