Volunteer pulls garlic mustard at Camel's Hump

A volunteer pulls garlic mustard at a 2025 event at Camel's Hump

Join us for a summer work night removing garlic mustard and other invasive plants from Camel's Hump Park and Open Space. This City of Cottage Grove site is home to expansive bluff-top views of the Mississippi River Valley, as well as restored prairie, oak savanna, woodland and forest.

All are welcome, but capacity is limited and registration is required. As always, all tools and training will be provided and volunteers are encouraged to work at their own pace and comfort level.

Accessibility

Garlic mustard removal will be off-trail and on sloped terrain. Hand-pulling weeds is a relatively low-intensity activity, but there will be pulling locations that require a short hike up and down a steep slope. If desired, volunteers can separate into groups based on terrain.
