Webinar: 'Sustainable Aviation Fuel: How Minnesota can get it right.'

Thursday, November 21, 2024 - 10:00am
Virtual

There is immense promise in a new era of aviation fuel. There is also real peril. We’re at the table to steer decision-makers toward the most sustainable options. (Photo by Ken Lund)

With greenhouse gas emissions from aircraft on the rise, federal and state governments are urgently seeking ways to reduce aviation emissions through low-carbon fuel pathways that can benefit communities, mitigate climate impacts, and drive business development. But what is sustainable aviation fuel, and what are the possibilities (and perils) it can present?

Minnesota is at an inflection point. The choices made now about our approach to sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) will impact Minnesota and the health of the Mississippi River for decades to come.

This webinar is for anyone interested in learning more about the possibilities and perils of SAF, especially those working within state agencies, agriculture, economic development, advocacy and academia.

During the webinar, we will unpack SAF and how it fits into decarbonizing aviation emissions, discuss the Minnesota Sustainable Aviation Fuels Guiding Principles created by partner organizations Friends of the Mississippi River, Fresh Energy and The Nature Conservancy, and explain what could be next for SAF in Minnesota and beyond.
