$$ for water-friendly projects

Rain gardens, rain barrels, trash pick-ups, green roofs, information brochures — these are all potential projects that residents, organizations, businesses and schools may be able to fund in part with a Capitol Region Watershed District cost-sharing grant.

The District covers 40 square miles in Ramsey County (a map is available as a pdf at their web site), and is offering cost-sharing grants of up to $2,000 for watershed residents to implement projects or programs with goals to: improve water quality by decreasing stormwater runoff; create and carry out water quality education programs; or preserve native plant and wildlife communities affected by lakes, rivers, and wetlands. Applicants provide a 1-to-1 match of cash or in-kind services. Only new projects will be considered and grant funding is on a reimbursement basis.

CRWD accepts applications throughout the year. Contact Capitol Region Watershed District for a complete application packet: 651-644-8888.
