Whose view? From where? — April 2016

We only got one response this month and it was correct!

From Mike Etlicher: "I believe this view is taken from River Heights Marina, across the docks and small, west channel and into the mouth of the shallow dead-end inlet of the island which splits the river between Inver Grove Heights and Newport. Just 350 or so yards downstream to the right is the Old Rock Island Swing Bridge."

This lovely stretch of river is also home to FMR's newest habitat restoration site. 

About “Whose view? From where?”

Each month in this section, we feature a photo somewhere along the river corridor in the Twin Cities that is in some way significant or important or just plain scenic. Individuals may then email us and identify the view and explain why they believe it is significant to the community or important to them personally. We'll publish some of your responses in the next issue of Mississippi Messages, where we will also reveal the correct answer.
