Welcome, Peter — our new agricultural policy manager
FMR is pleased to welcome our new agricultural policy manager, Peter LaFontaine.
After earning his degree in education from Washington University in St. Louis, Peter spent five years at National Wildlife Federation, where he focused on climate change and fossil fuel issue advocacy, and five more years at the International Fund for Animal Welfare, where he managed campaigns on wildlife trafficking and endangered species.
As our new agricultural policy manager, Peter will lead our agricultural clean-water advocacy efforts. This work will focus on bringing together a diverse cross-section of stakeholders to integrate next-generation crops and cropping systems into Minnesota's farming landscape.
Long-term, these innovative crops and practices will improve the river's health while enhancing farm prosperity.
We are grateful for Peter’s commitment to this ambitious work and look forward to his contributions to a cleaner, healthier and more vibrant Mississippi River.
