Thanks to our 2025-2026 Stewardship and Education Intern!
Tamya provided invaluable support throughout the school year. We're proud to be a part of their environmental career journey.
This past school year, Tamya McDonald interned with the FMR Stewardship and Education team.
Tamya helped FMR staff with a wide range of outings and activities, including our youth programming, storm drain stenciling and restoration events.
Tamya brought a calm, friendly and welcoming energy to our public programs. They were a reliable team member who learned the ropes quickly and could be depended on to step in on a wide range of tasks, including providing vital behind-the-scenes support.
Tamya's reflections
"At FMR, I got to assist with the storm drain stenciling program and attend all of the Environmental Stewardship Institute council outings. I helped set up and participated in our volunteer events. My favorite project was working on the children's book with the council and getting to know the high schoolers. This internship helped build my communication skills, become more of a team player and grow my environmental expertise. I am wholeheartedly very grateful for my time at FMR.
"I'm going on to work at the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board in the immediate future. But graduate school in the next three years is the next goal."
