The agriculture omnibus package passed both the House and Senate! Thank you to everyone who took time to contact their legislators.
We've got a chance to make vital investments in clean-water crops this legislative session! Take action below and ask your representatives to make sure these initiatives make it through before the Legislature's last day.
FMR is excited to see that our clean-water crops priorities are included in the final omnibus agriculture package about to be considered by the House and Senate at the close of the legislative session. While these measures were cut back significantly in the final round of negotiations, the silver lining is that we are well-positioned for success at the Capitol in the years ahead.
But we’re not there yet! The bill must still pass both chambers and be signed by the governor.
We need your help to ensure the agriculture bills get enough votes to pass both chambers and secure the governor’s signature.
Please take a moment to send a message to your legislators asking them to support the omnibus agriculture bill (HF3420), which includes FMR’s top two priorities this session:
- Much-needed funding for the University of Minnesota’s Forever Green crop research and development initiative. This will help bring new, water-friendly cropping systems from the lab to the field, ultimately improving water quality, soil health, wildlife habitat and climate resilience.
- Value Chain Development grants that will accelerate the development of the market for these clean-water crops and spur further economic opportunities within our state.
Please tell your legislators to support these important measures before the session ends on May 23.
