Weeding + tending the demonstration prairie at Crosby Farm Park
Help tend the volunteer-planted demonstration native prairie at Crosby Farm Regional Park! Crosby Farm Park is a natural oasis in the heart of the city, nestled at the confluence of the Mississippi and Minnesota rivers. The park is home to 534-acres of floodplain forest and oak woodlands tucked under the bluffs of the Mississippi River. Wetlands surround Crosby Lake while limestone and sandstone outcroppings line the north side of the park.
Plant pollinator patches at Camel's Hump Park and Open Space
Join us at Camel's Hump Park in Cottage Grove, home to beautiful river views overlooking Highway 61. Alongside FMR staff volunteers will install multiple pollinator patches throughout a section of the park. Planting in patches makes it easier for the birds, bees and butterflies to find the pollen they seek.
As always, all tools and training will be provided and volunteers are encouraged to work at their own pace and comfort level.
